About Me

The story of who I am

My name is David Mills and I was born in Westford, Massachusetts, which is about 45 minutes outside of Boston. I have a strong sense of pride when it comes to being from Massachusetts and I plan to work and settle down in Boston following my graduation from college. Something unique about me compared to my peers here is that I am also Australian and hold dual citizenship in America and Australia.

Hockey has been a central part of my life since childhood, sparking a passion that I still have today. I started playing the sport when I was about five, and I fell in love immediately. Not only do I have a passion for playing the sport, but I also love to watch it. I played it throughout my entire life and my competitive career came to an end after my senior season of high school hockey. However, I still play in men's leagues for fun both back home in Westford and here in Tucson. Overall, hockey has taught me so many important lessons, including the importance of loyalty and teamwork, and I still cherish these values today.

After high school, I originally attended The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University to pursue my undergraduate studies. Although I performed well academically at this institution, it was not the right fit for me as a person and I decided to transfer to the University of Arizona. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made as I truly love it here. It also showed me the importance of striving to be successful and happy at the same time, as well as demonstrating the value of taking risks in your life.

Currently, I am an accounting major at the Eller College of Management and plan to pursue a Masters in Accounting after I finish my undergraduate studies. I always knew I wanted to go into business, but when I first came to college I was unsure on which specific path and major I wanted to pursue. After taking my first accounting class at Indiana University, I knew it was the right major for me. I liked the material, I was good at it, and it sort of came naturally to me. I then did some research on all the career opportunities an accounting degree can provide you with and I was pleased with the results. My career goals in this field are to eventually work at one of the Big Four public accounting firms (PwC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG) after I am done with school. The reason I am so drawn to these companies is because of their immense opportunities for personal and professional growth, their prestigious clientele, and their emphasis on teamwork. I have already begun working towards this goal and have secured an internship with PwC at their Boston office for the summer of 2025. I am incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity and I can't wait to meet new people, acquire new knowledge, expand my skillset, and grow as a professional.
